The Story of the Suspended Altar Bowl
These bowls are created for our customers that are looking for a very special and unique statement piece. This is a smaller version of our popular raised bowls, with a much more bold stand.
Often purchased as an altar bowl or offering bowl. These bowls are also popular with those who wish to have a decorative piece that embraces our ancient ways.
Creation of the Suspended Altar Bowl
Created using traditional techniques that date back hundreds of years, they are hand hammered, shaped in a hand carved tree stump and textured to create unique patterns. The bowl is then treated with vegetable oil. The final result is a gorgeous black sheen that is non-toxic and burn safe. Seasoning of the bowl with vegetable oil will be required to protect the metal and maintain the finish.
The vine style stand is also fully hand forged and riveted, with a leaf accent at the base, as if a vine has grown from the ground to hold the bowl. The bowl hangs from chains and is removable.
Item Details
Measurement of Forged Suspended Bowl is approximately: 4.75 inches in diameter, and stands approximately 10 inches tall ~ Because they are all hand-forged, and each piece of metal has its own essence and character, there may be small blemishes or imperfections, but these add to the unique character of the piece, giving it a special individuality. No two pieces are ever exactly the same.
To care for your bowl, treat it as you would cast iron. Season it regularly with oil before burning to ensure your bowl maintains its' beauty for a lifetime.
